Approach to sport showing differences in the lead parties

So the premier was talking sports on the Team 1040, having thrown out the first pitch on his campaign in Prince George - front page photo ops from the Charles Jago Sport Centre, one of the 2010 legacy success stories. All part of making sport a "vital public service" as per the Liberal campaign platform.

Meanwhile, competing visions for sport and recreation infrastructure development are emerging with the NDP using P3s as a potential wedge issue along with dedicated funds (~$100m) for new development.

Who would have thought that so early in the campaign you would see approaches to sport as a key question between the two leading parties. Oh, the Greens just called, let's hear what they have to say...

Interesting start to the campaign, I'd say.

Some interesting commentary by the NDP that will benefit from some further analysis and discussion with them. Mostly focused on community sport and rec infrastructure...is it a dedicated line item? Annual AND locked-in or term limited?

Ian is off to Kamloops today to connect with sport leaders at the Tournament Capital Centre. And then on Friday a crew of us will be working in the Campaign Headquarters all day Friday!!
